3DO Interactive Multiplayer
3DO Interactive Multiplayer is a home console manufactured by The 3DO Company and released in October 1993. It was designed to be a cutting-edge multimedia system with 32-bit processing and CD-ROM technology, offering advanced graphics and sound for its time. Popular games for the 3DO included Gex, Need for Speed, and Road Rash. During its lifespan, around 200 titles were released. Despite its innovative technology, the high price and competition from other consoles led to the 3DO’s commercial failure, but it remains an important milestone in gaming history for its forward-thinking approach.
