PC-98 is a personal computer platform developed by NEC and released in October 1982. Popular in Japan, the PC-98 was known for its high-resolution graphics and support for visual novels and RPGs. Popular titles for the PC-98 included Ys I & II, Snatcher, and Policenauts. During its lifespan, the PC-98 became a staple of Japanese PC gaming, with over 21 million units sold.
