PlayStation Portable, also known as PSP, is a handheld console manufactured by Sony and released in December 2004. It was designed to offer a console-like gaming experience in a portable format, featuring a large LCD screen, UMD disc format, and multimedia capabilities like music and video playback. Popular titles for the PSP included God of War: Chains of Olympus, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. Over its lifespan, around 1,370 titles were released. The PSP was a commercial success, helping Sony establish a strong foothold in the handheld gaming market before the rise of smartphones.
