Super Nintendo Entertainment System, also known as SNES, is a home console manufactured by Nintendo and released in November 1990. It was designed with 16-bit graphics, providing a significant leap in visual quality from its predecessor. Popular titles for the SNES included Super Mario World, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, and Super Metroid. Over 1,700 titles were released during its lifespan. The SNES was a commercial and critical success, becoming one of the most beloved consoles in gaming history.
