TurboGrafx-16
TurboGrafx-16, also known as PC Engine in Japan, is a home console developed by NEC and released in 1987. It was the first console to use a 16-bit graphics processor, making it a competitor to the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo. Popular titles for the TurboGrafx-16 included Bonk’s Adventure, R-Type, and Ys I & II. Over its lifespan, around 700 titles were released. Though it was more popular in Japan, the system gained a cult following in North America.
