Virtual Boy
Virtual Boy is a handheld console manufactured by Nintendo and released in July 1995. It was designed to offer 3D graphics using a stereoscopic display, but its monochrome red-and-black visuals and awkward design led to discomfort for players. Popular titles for the Virtual Boy included Mario’s Tennis and Wario Land. Only 22 titles were released during its short lifespan. The Virtual Boy was a commercial failure and is often regarded as one of Nintendo’s biggest missteps.
